OVERVIEW
If you are aiming to work as a 3D animator or motion-capture specialist in the games and real-time environments, film or TV industries, then this course is for you. It has a clear focus on the creation of 3D computer animation, primarily for games, real-time applications, film and TV.It begins with fundamental skills common to all animation roles, such as drawing, pre-visualisation, cinematography, 3D modeling, keyframe animation, simulation as well as an introduction to real-time game engines.
The course contains unique modules in both motion capture and performance/facial capture, in our state-of-the-art, on-site motion-capture studio. Output is largely aimed at real-time environments, developing your skills in animation, motion capture and game engine, making this a distinctive programme. Group modules give you the opportunity to experience working in large creative teams producing animation and visual effects within the context of computer game development. It equips you with valuable skills in this growing area of both keyframe and motion-capture animation, which is widely used in both games, real-time environments and film & TV production.
You also gain experience of the wider animation pre-production and production pipeline in team modules shared with the games pathways where you can work as animators or motion capture specialists.
